IB Junior Intelligence Officer Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for 394 Vacancies

The Intelligence Bureau (IB), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has released the official notification for Junior Intelligence Officer Grade–II/Technical (JIO-II/Tech) Recruitment 2025. Eligible candidates can apply online for 394 vacancies from 23rd August 2025 to 14th September 2025.

Post Details

• Post Name: Junior Intelligence Officer Grade–II/Technical (JIO-II/Tech)

• Classification: Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial

• Pay Scale: Level 4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100) + allowances

  • Special Security Allowance @20% of basic pay

  • Cash compensation for duty on holidays (up to 30 days)

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Any one of the following):

1. Diploma in Engineering in Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication / Electrical & Electronics / IT / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Computer Applications.

2. Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Electronics / Computer Science / Physics / Mathematics.

3. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications.

Age Limit

• 18–27 years (as on closing date 14.09.2025)

• Relaxations:

  • SC/ST: 5 years

  • OBC: 3 years

  • Departmental candidates: up to 40 years

  • Widows/Divorced Women: UR-35, OBC-38, SC/ST-40

  • Ex-servicemen & sportspersons: as per Govt. rules

Selection Process

The selection will be based on three stages:

1. Tier-I (Written Exam) – 100 Marks (Objective MCQs, 2 hours)

   • General Mental Ability – 25%

   • Technical Subject (as per qualification) – 75%

   • Negative marking: ¼ mark for wrong answers

2. Tier-II (Skill Test) – 30 Marks (Practical/Technical test)

3. Tier-III (Interview/Personality Test) – 20 Marks

Final merit list will be based on performance in all three stages.

Exam Centres

The exam will be conducted across 100+ cities in India including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur and many more. Candidates must select 5 preferences while applying.

Application Fee

• UR/EWS/OBC (Male): ₹650/- (₹100 exam fee + ₹550 processing charges)

• SC/ST, Female, Ex-servicemen (eligible): ₹550/- (processing charges only)

• Mode of Payment: Online (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, SBI challan)

• Last Date to Apply Online: 14th September 2025 (11:59 PM)

• Last Date for Fee Payment (Challan): 16th September 2025

4. Upload photo, signature, and documents.

5. Pay application fee online or through SBI challan.

Key Points to Remember

• All India Transfer liability applies.

• Only online applications are accepted.

• PwBD candidates are not eligible for this post.

• Candidates must carry the same photograph used in the application for all stages.
