The Intelligence Bureau (IB), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has released the official notification for Junior Intelligence Officer Grade–II/Technical (JIO-II/Tech) Recruitment 2025. Eligible candidates can apply online for 394 vacancies from 23rd August 2025 to 14th September 2025.

Pay Scale: Level 4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100) + allowances

Special Security Allowance @20% of basic pay

Cash compensation for duty on holidays (up to 30 days)

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (Any one of the following):
-
Diploma in Engineering in Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication / Electrical & Electronics / IT / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Computer Applications.

Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Electronics / Computer Science / Physics / Mathematics.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications.
Age Limit

18–27 years (as on closing date 14.09.2025)

Relaxations:

SC/ST: 5 years

OBC: 3 years

Departmental candidates: up to 40 years

Widows/Divorced Women: UR-35, OBC-38, SC/ST-40

Selection Process
The selection will be based on three stages:

Tier-I (Written Exam) – 100 Marks (Objective MCQs, 2 hours)

General Mental Ability – 25%
-
Technical Subject (as per qualification) – 75%
-
Negative marking: ¼ mark for wrong answers

Tier-II (Skill Test) – 30 Marks (Practical/Technical test)

Tier-III (Interview/Personality Test) – 20 Marks
Final merit list will be based on performance in all three stages.
Exam Centres
The exam will be conducted across 100+ cities in India including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur and many more. Candidates must select 5 preferences while applying.
