Recruitment for Various Posts in Level 1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix

The Ministry of Railways, Government of India, invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to various Level 1 posts under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. The details of the recruitment are as follows:


Important Dates

  • Opening date for submission of applications: January 23, 2025
  • Closing date for submission of applications: February 22, 2025, at 11:59 PM

Details of Vacancies

  • Posts: Various Posts in Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix
  • Initial Pay: Rs. 18,000/-
  • Total Vacancies: Approximately 32,000
  • Age Limit (as of July 1, 2025): 18-36 years (includes a one-time relaxation of 3 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification & Medical Standards: Refer to Annexure A in the detailed CEN available on official RRB websites.
  • Zone-wise Distribution: Refer to Annexure B in the detailed CEN.
  • Special Note: Vacancies under the CCAA category are exclusively for apprentices trained in Railway establishments.

Application Fee

  • General Candidates: Rs. 500/- (Rs. 400/- refundable upon appearing in CBT after deducting applicable bank charges)
  • Fee Concession Categories (PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC/ST, Minority Communities, and Economically Backward Class): Rs. 250/- (fully refundable upon appearing in CBT after deducting applicable bank charges)
  • Note: Economically Backward Class (EBC) is distinct from OBC or EWS.

Mode of Examination

  • The recruitment process includes a computer-based test (CBT). For details, refer to Section 14.0 of the detailed CEN.

Reservation Details

Reservations are applicable for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, ex-servicemen, CCAA, and PwBD candidates. Detailed information is provided in Sections 8.0 to 12.8 of the CEN.
