Recruitment Notification: Institute of Wood Science and Technology (IWST), Bengaluru

The Institute of Wood Science and Technology (IWST), Bengaluru, under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an autonomous body of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Government of India, invites applications from eligible candidates for various posts. These positions carry an all-India transfer liability under ICFRE/Centers. Details of the posts and application procedures are outlined below.

IWST General Instructions

  1. How to Apply
    Interested candidates must submit applications to:
    The Director, Institute of Wood Science & Technology, 18th Cross, Malleswaram, Bengaluru (560003).

    • Last Date: January 3, 2025.
    • For residents of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, the last date is January 10, 2025.

    Late applications will not be considered, and the Institute will not be responsible for postal delays.

  2. Application Fee
    • General/OBC/EWS: Rs. 800 (Rs. 500/- application fee + Rs. 300/- processing fee).
    • SC/ST/PH/Women: Exempted from application fee but must pay Rs. 300/- processing fee.
    • Fee should be paid via demand Draft drawn in favor of “Director, Institute of Wood Science and Technology”, payable at Bengaluru.
  3. Separate Applications:
    If applying for multiple posts, submit separate applications with individual fees and required documents.
  4. Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST/OBC/PH: As per Government of India norms.
    • Government employees: No upper age limit as per applicable rules.
  5. Documents Required:
    Applications must include:

    • Self-attested photocopies of educational and technical qualifications, age proof, and category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).
    • Four recent passport-size photographs (one affixed, three stapled with the name and post written on the reverse).
  6. Selection Process:
    • LIA and MTS: Written Examination (Objective Type MCQs).
    • LDC: Written examination followed by a typing skill test.

      • Mental Ability & Reasoning: 25 marks
      • General English (Qualifying): 25 marks

    • MTS:

  2. Exam Duration: 3 hours.
  3. Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
